OUR ACTIVITIES

HOPE caters to the needs of the abandoned, mentally challenged and spastic children. It also provides round the clock service and a homely environment to the destitute, despite their age and condition. A brief description of the activities at HOPE are listed below.

  • Training Female candidates in vocational skills such as Tailoring, Bag-stitching, Doll-making & Weaving
  • Training Male Candidates in Chalkpiece-moulding, Carpentery work, Painting etc.,
  • Imparting education to the inmates and integrating them with the society to develop a congenial atmosphere.

Short Stay Home for the Homeless & Mentally challenged
HOPE also extends a short stay facility for homeless and mentally challenged children. The children who are referred here by the Child Welfare Committee stay here until an order is received from them.

24 Hours Helpline
HOPE is equipped to handle the welfare of abandoned, mentally challenged children, round the clock. HOPE receives calls for assistance from the public, when they notice such children abandoned on the streets.

Home Based Support
HOPE extends its support to parents who are unable to bring up the mentally retarded or spastic children, due to poverty. It provides a means for the parents to make a livelihood for themselves. So far, HOPE has helped such parents to set up a small home-based catering and laundry service. Occasionally, HOPE also  supports them by providing groceries, medicines and the like.
